Bashed for Love!

Really it’s been a while since my last blog post; one would expect that a budding blogger like me would have something up every now and then. Unfortunately I have been busy or should I say fortunately? this is because my job not only very tasking and challenging, it requires that I pay apt attention to details and my mind needs to be constantly alive and "on top of things". Recently, during my absence I have had to deal with two different PR campaigns for two different and interesting clients. The fast growing impact of new and digital media is also giving my profession a "run" if you know what I mean...But I'm not here to talk about the "terrorizations of PR in our nation today"...LOL! Rather, a very touchy topic that has caught my attention.

In two weeks the amount of stories I heard about young ladies getting the beating of their lives even to the point of death and or total body dis-figuration is quite disheartening. There was one about a girl who was “chiked” by a certain guy for quite long period but the guy amidst all the many NOs in the  "please be my girl" series, settled for close friends and won her heart on that ground. The said girl felt she had someone who she can trust and was ‘sure’ he would never hurt her. On a fateful day after their occasional movie hangouts, the trusted pal suddenly pounced on this girl and gave her a beating she would never forget in a hurry, leaving a scar saying 'if you can’t be mine then let me mar you a little.

Another notable case is the incident which took place a couple of weeks back, a young lady whose "toaster" after several futile efforts at winning the lady's heart, decides he'd make her a liability for life. He pours acid in her eyes and disappears, the said girl has lost complete use of her eyes and all her hopes and dreams of the future are shattered. For the fear of the feats from you the reader, I'll save you the ordeal of having to look at the heart-wrenching picture but you can view in this link... http://www.punchng.com/metro/girl-loses-eyes-after-acid-attack-by-suitor/ I can’t help but wonder what could evoke such behavior in any man; the spirit, mentality, feeling, desire...what fuels such manifestations? I speak as a voice for these young ladies, we say love us not suffocate us with your loving, and really, no girl is your "last bus stop", same thing for ladies, do not allow past experiences make you into a monster, heartless or non-nonchalant. A  friend of mine also reckoned that the way most ladies turn down 'suitors' can be very demeaning...if you really don’t like or dig him, don’t do a good job of "bashing his ego" cos then you might get "bashing".

Nevertheless, we all need each other, try not to burn bridges and the next time you wanna hurt somebody with your tongue or hand, stop and think; "what if I was at the receiving end of this action" ? BL: Love others as you would love yourself. After all I have said..., I LOVE YOU reading this post, but I'm interested in your view on the topic "Bashed for Love"

  5. Dat's not what i mean, what i mean is, women hv a right to say NO but the manner also matters. If she says NO cus maybe she believes she is in a much higher class than the man or she says it rudely, then she deserves a beating.
